Coach Hogan is in his first year at Peachtree Ridge High School. He is a graduate of St. Pius High and played baseball at Pitt Community College in North Carolina before transferring to Georgia State University for his final two college seasons.

Prior to coming to Peachtree Ridge, Coach Hogan spent three seasons as the Varsity Head Coach at Central Gwinnett High School. He guided the Black Knights to steady improvement doubling their win total over his 3 year tenure. Prior to Central Gwinnett, Coach Hogan was at Georgia State University for four seasons (‘09-‘13) serving as on the coaching staff as the volunteer assistant and most recently as the Director of Baseball Operations. Coach Hogan also served as a coach in the Sunbelt and Coastal Plain summer wooden bat leagues, guiding teams to top finishes and playoff appearances.

Coach Hogan is married to his wife Nicole.

Varsity Assistant Coach - Varsity Pitching Coach and Pitching Coordinator

Coach Collins is in his first year at Peachtree Ridge High School. He is a graduate of Norcross High School. After high school, Coach Collins went on to play baseball at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Health and Physical Education. Prior to coming to Peachtree Ridge, Coach Collins spent the past four years at Central Gwinnett High School as an assistant baseball coach and a one year stint as the Varsity Head Coach. Prior to Central Gwinnett, Coach Collins spent two years teaching in Clearwater, Florida. Coach Collins now teaches in the Career and Technology Education department at Peachtree Ridge High School.

Coach Collins is married to his wife Katie.

Varsity Assistant Coach - Outfielder coordinator and baserunning coordinator

Coach Douglas is in his first year at Peachtree Ridge High School where he teaches Physical Education and Health. He coached Baseball the past 2 years at Centennial High School and has 7 years coaching football at both the high school and college level. Ryan attended Mars Hill College.

Coach Chaney is in his first year coaching at Peachtree Ridge High School where he played baseball. After high school he went on to the University of North Georgia, which he is currently a senior.

Patrick Wortman

JV Assistant - Corner Infielders and hitting instructor

Mr. Patrick Wortman is a 1st year US History teacher at Peachtree Ridge High School. He earned a Bachelors degree in History, a minor in Information Technology, and a certificate for Education. In his free time, Mr. Wortman enjoys Netflix, reading History novels, and playing Ultimate Frisbee. He has played Ultimate Frisbee for over 7 years, on both collegiate and competitive club levels. He is very passionate about the sport and sharing it with others. He has two dogs, a black lab named Molly, and a medium mix named ObiWan. If you can't tell from his classroom and movie references, he is a huge Star Wars fan! Additionally, always be ready for terrible puns and dad jokes from Mr. Wortman, as they are a wonderful specialty.

John Zopf

Freshmen Head Coach - Assist Catchers/Hitting

Coach Zopf is in his third year at Peachtree Ridge High School. He played baseball, soccer and golf at Lincoln Academy in Newcastle, Maine. After high school, he attended Georgia State University and received a bachelor's degree in Print Journalism. In 2010, Coach Zopf received his Master's degree in Secondary Education.

Prior to coming to Peachtree Ridge, Coach Zopf was the head JV baseball coach and assistant men's basketball coach at White County High School in Cleveland, Ga. Before his teaching and coaching career began in 2010, Coach Zopf was a sports writer for the Gainesville Times for 5 years.

Coach Zopf teaches Audio/Video Broadcasting and oversees the school's TV network at Peachtree Ridge High School. Coach Zopf and his wife Courtney, an art teacher at Peachtree Ridge High School, are the proud parents of Brady, Madelyn and Scarlett.

Jim Hunter

Freshman Assistant - 9th grade pitching coach and Assistant Pitching Coordinator

Coach Hunter is in his 11th year at Peachtree Ridge High School. He is a graduate of Middletown North High School in Middletown, NJ. After high school Coach Hunter went on to play baseball at Brookdale CC in NJ and the University of Georgia where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Education. He played professionally for 10+ seasons with a brief stint with the Milwaukee Brewers in 1991.

He began his teaching and coaching career at Lansing High School in Lansing, Kansas in 1997-2000. He has spent time at Dacula High School and Collins Hill High School before coming to Peachtree Ridge. He has also earned at Bachelors Degree in InformationTechnology and a Masters Degree in Occupational Studies.

Coach Hunter now teaches Business and Computer Science at Peachtree Ridge High School.

Coach Hunter and his wife Lorna are the proud parents of Jordan, Taylor,, and Mac.

Carrie Petty

Academic Support Specialist

Ms. Carrie Petty teaches AP United States History and AP Seminar. She also serves as the Instructional Coordinator for the Advanced Placement program and the Academic Support Specialist for the baseball program at Peachtree Ridge High School.

Ms. Petty grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, IL and earned her B.A. in History and M.A. in Teaching from Emory University. She has worked at Peachtree Ridge since the Fall of 2005. This is her eleventh year teaching AP U.S. History, her fifth year as Advanced Placement Instructional Coordinator and her first year as the Academic Support Specialist for the Lions baseball Program.
